Lovely property with enough room for four adults and 2 dogs. Nice and clean and comfortable. Kitchen had everything you would need. Dog friendly although dogs not allowed upstairs. Also Property is on a main road but didn’t disturb us too much.
Pubs in easy walking distance and lots of lovely walks

Great place in a great location. As previous guests have identified you don't notice the road once inside and you just have to be cautious pulling out.

We had a wonderful Christmas at Pound Cottage, playing board games, dipping in the sea, and walking on the cliffs. The cottage is beautiful inside, full of character and very well equipped. Yes, it is right on the main road (and there is some noise), and the ceiling is very low in the living room, but this was all clear from the description and in no way spoiled our enjoyment.read moreread less

We had a great stay at Pound cottage and loved the surrounding area. The cottage was full of character and had plenty of space . The previous reports of its position on a busy road were valid but it really wasn’t a problem. We really did not notice the sound and got used to stopping the traffic in order to cross with the dog, if necessary. When driving we just turned left for a short distance.
The location was great for walks and we had one of the best meals ever in the Anchor at Seatown (15 min walk). The George across the road was also very good. Hive beach was also brilliant for food. Lyme Regis, Weymouth and Lulworth Cove are also a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again if in Dorset.read moreread less

Pound Cottage is a very beautiful little cottage with a great kitchen and a very cosy living space. My partner (1.85 m tall) had to walk around downstairs with a slight stoop due to the low ceilings, but this was a known issue when I booked and he never complained. The little garden in front of the cottage was in full bloom when we arrived, which was wonderful. Parking is good and the cottage is very easy to find. Everything was spotlessly clean when we arrived and we had everything we needed and more for our stay. The road is very busy with lorries and gets really noisy, but this has also been mentioned in many comments, so it wasn't a surprise for us and it hardly bothered us.
We loved that the beach is just a 10 min walk away. The George Inn across the street is a great pub with very good food. Everything you need and/or want to see and explore can be reached by car or the Jurassic Coaster in no time. All in all, we had a great time and warmly recommend Pound Cottage.read moreread less

Lovely cottage in a great location , close to the beach and the south coast walks along the jurassic coastline. Really nice pub across the road for good and great pub on the beach for drinks and takeaway. Great location for visiting nearby Lyme Regis, Hive beach and Weymouth. The road is very noisy outside but you soon get used to it. Little sun trap of a garden is a joy to sit in each day. Thanks Nicole for a lovely stay.read moreread less

This is a beautiful area of the country and the cottage is absolutely delightful with so many beautiful touches. It is so well-equipped and really appropriate for dogs because the garden is fenced in. I had missed the bit in the description about the low ceiling in the living room, so my very tall partner had to duck! We had a lovely stay. I highly recommend it. Very tall people and people who have difficulty with steep stairs may find it a challenge. Otherwise, go ahead and book, you won't regret it!read moreread less

Pound cottage, what a relaxing and cosy little bolt hole. The George across the road, great food and the Anchor and Golden Cap 15 mins walk.
Nicole was a great host, the cottage is what you would expect from a chocolate box cottage, well kitted out and a wood burner to boot.

This place was excellent. They cater for everything and it was lovely to have a little welcome pack.
The area of Chideock is very walkable and the beach is a leisurely 15 minute walk.
The road is busy but you don't notice it once inside.
We all agree that we will be back.
